Embu College & University of Embu MoU
Higher and Tertiary level Education is set to receive a big Boost, this is after signing of a MoU between Embu College and the University of Embu in an event witnessed by Embu college Chairman Hon Kithinji Kiragu and the Embu University Vice-Chancellor Prof Mugendi.
The MoU seeks to see the two institutions complement each other in their specific areas of strengths, as well as ensure resource sharing between the two institutions. On her part, the Embu College Principal Ms Margeret Wachira (front row 4th from right ) underlined the need to work together saying it will enable the institutions to go Further as opposed to when working individually.
For UoE Professor Kiplagat Kotut, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academics, Research and Extension(front row 4th from right), said that the MoU seeks to see more Certificate and Diploma students transition into Degree courses offered in Embu University.
This move has made Embu College the most favourable place to pursue the certificate and Diploma courses since proceeding to University will be much easier.
A task force was set up to oversee the full implementation of the MoU to its full.
On his part, the Chairman Embu College Mr Kithinji Kiragu (front row Center) termed the move as a momentous occasion and a milestone in his dream that started back in 1995 of ” bringing a Strathmore College to Embu”. He acknowledged the challenges that the institution had to face in its journey this far. The aim of the college since its inception has been to Empower tomorrow’s leaders and has been able to achieve this over the years.He thanked the Almighty God for enabling the activities of the day.
